WOOD COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man was arrested on May 15 after allegedly attempting to enter the Wood County Justice Center with drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was alerted by a Court Security Officer during a routine security check at the Justice Center lobby.
A male subject triggered the metal detector, prompting a search that revealed a black case on his person containing several needles and a piece of foil.
Further investigation led to a search of the man’s wallet, where a white powdered substance was discovered.
The suspect, identified as Robert James Florence, 41, of Pettyville Road in Wood County, was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Florence was processed at the Holding Center, arraigned, and later released on bond.
