RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Raleigh County man is facing multiple charges following a domestic disturbance that escalated into property damage and erratic behavior during transport, according to law enforcement.
Troopers were dispatched on April 11, 2026, to a report of an active domestic situation. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect, identified as Ross, sitting inside a truck at the scene.
Authorities say Ross was ordered out of the vehicle and complained of a broken hand, claiming he injured it by punching several televisions inside the home. He was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle while awaiting evaluation by EMS.
Emergency personnel later examined Ross and determined there were no signs of a broken hand and that he did not require hospitalization.
During the investigation, Ross’s mother told officers that he had been drinking heavily since the previous night and had not stopped. She alleged that Ross struck her multiple times and bit her on the arm during the incident. She also reported significant damage inside the home, including multiple televisions being destroyed.
A check through Raleigh County Headquarters revealed Ross had three active warrants for his arrest. He was taken into custody at the scene.
While being transported, authorities say Ross began repeatedly banging his head against the rear driver-side window and kicking the glass, despite being told to stop. Officers were forced to pause the transport multiple times after Ross partially forced the window open, raising safety concerns.
The damage to the patrol vehicle is estimated at approximately $2,600.
Ross remains in custody as the investigation continues. Charges related to the domestic incident, outstanding warrants, and destruction of property are expected.
