BELLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested after driving to his ex-girlfriend’s house threatening to commit suicide and grabbing her by the face.
According to a criminal complaint, on Monday, June 17, 2024, police were dispatched to a residence on East 8th Street in Belle for an intoxicated male threatening suicide with a gun.
Upon arrival, police encountered the suspect, 20-year-old Dalton Devault, sitting outside the victim’s residence in his car.
Police ordered Devault out of his vehicle and detained him for further investigation. A search was performed on the vehicle and no firearm was located.
Devault, who was intoxicated, came to the victim’s residence to speak to her.
The victim asked Devault to leave several times and he would, but would come back.
The third time Devault returned he tried to get the victim to leave with him but the victim refused.
Devault grabbed the victim by the face and tried to make her leave with him where the victim then went into the house to call 911.
Devault was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery. He is currently out on bond.
