SOPHIA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly firing a gun and threatening multiple people in Sophia, according to law enforcement reports.
At approximately 9:28 p.m. on February 13, 2025, officers responded to a shots fired complaint at 207 High Street. Upon arrival, authorities determined that the suspect, Terrance Henely, had approached Curtis Stafford, pointed a firearm at him, and fired a shot after Stafford bit the suspect’s arm. Spent shell casings were found at the scene.
Following the initial confrontation, the suspect reportedly walked past the residence and aimed the firearm at Cassandra Parks before continuing up the road. He then encountered J.S., Stafford’s juvenile daughter, and pointed the gun at her, allegedly saying, “Do you want some too?”
The suspect fled the scene but was later found and taken into custody at the intersection of Robert C. Byrd Drive and Blue Room Road. While being arrested, he allegedly made a spontaneous statement to officers, saying, “I told him I’d shoot him if I see him.” A silver Roebuck firearm was recovered from his possession at the time of the arrest.
He is currently in Southern Regional Jail.
