PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On March 19, 2023, at around 3:45 PM, police responded to a residence in the Princeton area in reference to a domestic disturbance. Dispatchers advised police the caller stated that Shane Miller had hit his step-daughter in the face with a book.
Upon arrival, the mother of the child was located outside the residence in her vehicle. Both children were also in the vehicle at this time.
While speaking with the mother, she stated she and Shane were arguing about an incident from the night before. While arguing, the 8-year-old female juvenile became involved in the argument. Shane then yelled at the juvenile victim at which time the other child an 11-year-old male juvenile threw a book at Shane.
Shane then began as if he was going to throw the book back at the male juvenile when the mother began advising the male juvenile to leave the room. Shane then in return threw the book at the mother which instead struck the female juvenile.
While speaking with the mother she advised that the female juvenile did not have any injuries from the incident, but she did have a video. Upon observing the video, police were able to observe a male she identified as Shane sitting on the bed, yelling at the male juvenile. The mother begins yelling at Shane in return, at which time Shane picks up a book and throws it in her direction.
Due to the evidence obtained during the investigation, Shane Miller was taken into custody and is charged with Domestic Battery (2nd Offense) and Domestic Assault.
Miller has a prior guilty plea of Domestic Battery from November 21, 2017.
