UPSHUR COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man is behind bars after he falsely reported an emergency for the eighth time since September.
According to a press release, Sgt Caynor, Chief Deputy Coffman, Sheriff Miller and members of the WV State police responded to Ivanhoe Road in Upshur County for a Breaking and Entering in progress call at approximately 2:45 pm on Friday, March 10, 2023.
Upon arrival, it was apparent that the caller Richard Young age 67 was impaired and admitted to consuming Methamphetamine earlier the same day. Officers determined that no breaking and entering had occurred.
Officers determined that the defendant had called 911 eight times since September reporting similar false emergencies similar in nature. Officers arrested Mr. Young for Falsely reporting an emergency incident.
Mr. Young remains in Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond.
