MALLORY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Logan County man faces charges after sharing with a high school student a video of a 6th grade middle school student engaged in what reports have described as sexually explicit conduct.
According to reports from Deputy B.K. Ratliff of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, Deputy Ratliff was made aware of a video which had been sent to a student of Man High School depicting a 6th Grade Man Middle School student dancing naked in a living room area.
Recording the video was defendant John Roger Adkins, and in the video the child could be seen dancing around in front of his stepmother and Adkins. The stepmother can be heard telling the juvenile to put his clothes on as he continues to dance around.
According to reports, “the step mother then asked the victim if he wanted to be a stripper and started laughing with the defendant while he was recording her step son on his phone as she set across from him in the living room.”
After recording the video on his phone, Adkins sent the video to a female student of Man High School who then brought the content to the attention of school staff.
Reports indicate that Adkins was not a parent or guardian of the victim, nor was he residing in the same home as the victim at the time of the content’s distribution. The exact nature of the relationship between the victim and the defendant remains unclear at the time of writing.
John Roger Adkins faces charges of Distribution and Exhibiting of Material Depicting Minors Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct.
