ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man was arrested on a Felony Warrant for First Degree Arson at the Elkins Holiday Inn on Friday.
According to reports from the Randolph Sheriff’s Department, deputies received a tip at approximately midnight on Friday, 7/29/22 that Timothy McDonald was parked at the Elkins Holiday Inn.
Deputies were aware of a Felony Warrant for McDonald’s arrest in relation to a First Degree Arson Charge, and McDonald is purported to have been actively sought by the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Cpl. S.D. Kyle Sr, Deputy Z.T. Pingley, and Deputy L.R. Elbon responded to the area, where they were able to locate McDonald and place him under arrest.
McDonald was then transported to Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
McDonald is believed to have been responsible for a house fire which occurred at his own Upper Isner Creek Road residence on July 14 and caused roughly $17,000 worth of damage.
The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office has purportedly ruled that the fire was set intentionally.Â
