MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested for breaking into a West Virginia middle school and stealing a jeep from a power plant.
Dustin Vernon Gomes, of Morgantown, was taken into custody on Thursday, September 12, by detectives with the Morgantown Police Department.
He faces two counts of breaking and entering and one count of grand larceny.
The charges stem from investigations into two incidents.
The first occurred on August 31, 2024, at Suncrest Middle School, where an annex building was broken into, and various items were stolen.
The second break-in took place on September 9, 2024, at the Morgantown Energy Associates (MEA) Power Plant on Beechurst Avenue.
Items were stolen from the administrative building, and a Jeep Rubicon was taken from the facility’s parking lot.
