MARTINSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 20-year-old Martinsburg man is in custody following a shooting at a local gas station early Tuesday morning.
According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a reported shooting at Rutters Gas Station, located at 1390 Hedgesville Road, around 3:10 a.m. on June 17.

Upon arrival, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. His identity has not been released, but his family has been notified.
Authorities said the suspect fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. A search was launched, and Deputy Little located the suspect nearby.
The man, identified as Elias Michael Jenkins, was arrested without incident and charged with attempted murder.
Jenkins is currently being held at the Eastern Regional Jail on a $150,000 bond.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit responded to the scene and has launched a formal investigation.
