WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – On Thursday, March 30, 2023, at approximately 1:13 pm, Paul Vencil “PJ” Morris, Jr. 75 of Kesslers Cross Lanes, WV, entered a rented garage on Summersville Lake Road to confront James William “Billy” Stone over a two-year family dispute. The situation escalated to the point where both individuals produced handguns and began exchanging gunfire.
Mr. Stone suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was life-flighted to CAMC for medical treatment. Mr. Morris was shot in the left arm.
Mr. Morris was charged with one count of Attempted Murder after consultation with the Nicholas County Prosecuting Attorney. Mr. Morris was processed and transported to Central Regional Jail to await further court proceedings.
Upon the release of Mr. Stone, additional charges may be filed. This investigation is active and ongoing.
