BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Boone County man is facing felony charges following a stabbing that left another man with multiple injuries earlier this month.
According to the West Virginia State Police, troopers received a call on Saturday, January 3, 2026, reporting a male victim suffering from stab wounds at a residence on Tidewater Lane in the Danville area of Boone County. When troopers arrived, the victim was already receiving medical treatment from the Boone County Ambulance Authority.
Investigators learned the stabbing allegedly occurred earlier at a separate residence on Third Street West in the Madison area. A witness told troopers she saw Chris Berry attack the victim with a knife and heard him threaten to kill the victim before the assault began. The witness said the accused fled the scene following the altercation.
Troopers later spoke with the victim on Sunday, January 4. The victim reported that Berry retrieved a knife and stabbed him in the lower torso, lower back, and face. He said he attempted to defend himself by grabbing the knife during the attack.
As a result of the investigation, Chris Berry has been charged with one count of malicious wounding in violation of West Virginia Code §61-2-9.
