WAYNE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – During the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 5th, 2023, West Virginia State Troopers and Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Blue Moon Hollow area, of Dunlow, West Virginia (Wayne County), to investigate a shooting.
Upon arrival, Jason Perry was found deceased of an apparent gunshot wound. Subsequently, information was developed, centering around a suspect, Chester Mollett, a 64-year-old male, from Dunlow, West Virginia.
A West Virginia State Police Special Response Team (SRT) responded and was able to place Chester Mollett into custody, without further incident. Chester Mollett will be charged with First Degree Murder and being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
This is still an active, and ongoing, investigation.
Further arrests could be forthcoming, as the investigation continues.
