OCEANA, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Wyoming County man is facing multiple criminal charges after allegedly disrupting church services, threatening security members, and violating a no-trespass order in Oceana.
According to the West Virginia State Police, a trooper was contacted on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025, by Sgt. D.G. Pierson regarding a trespassing complaint tied to incidents earlier in the week. The investigation centers on Michael Beall, who police say was involved in a series of disturbing encounters beginning during a church service on Wednesday, Dec. 17.
Police reports state that during the service, Beall allegedly approached members of the congregation, placed his hands on individuals, and claimed he was “casting out demons.” Witnesses said Beall continued touching congregants despite being repeatedly told to stop and was eventually escorted out by church security. Beall reportedly told church members they were possessed by the devil and said he was praying for them.
Security team members told police that as Beall was being escorted out, he allegedly stopped on the church steps, pointed at three security members, and threatened to kill them. One witness also reported that Beall later returned toward the building and poked a security member in the chest before leaving the area.
On Friday, Dec. 19, Beall was formally served with a no-trespass order by the Oceana Assistant Police Chief, barring him from several locations in Oceana, including the church.
Despite the order, police say Beall returned on Saturday, Dec. 20, to a residence in Oceana, where he allegedly beat on the door, rang a Ring doorbell repeatedly, and made phone calls to the occupant. The resident reportedly instructed Beall to leave multiple times while on the phone with Wyoming County 911. Beall left the scene but later returned before leaving again and not coming back.
Authorities were provided with security camera footage, a copy of the trespass letter, and a personal safety order related to Beall.
Based on the investigation, state police are requesting warrants through Wyoming County Magistrate Court for Beall on multiple charges, including harassment, disturbance of a church service, battery, assault, trespassing, and stalking.
All incidents occurred in Wyoming County, West Virginia.
