RIPLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Jackson County man has been chargedwith Domestic Battery 3nd offense based on an altercation with his significant other which stemmed from a discussion about his lack of willingness to help out around the house.
According to Jackson County Magistrate Court documents, on Sunday, December 1, 2024, Deputy Roush of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic incident involving a friend of the caller.
Deputy Roush spoke with the victim at Jackson General Hospital and observed swelling on the left side of her face. Dried blood was also observed around the mouth of the victim and her left eye was swollen and discolored.
The victim informed law enforcement that she had confronted her significant other – identified as Bradley Fields, 33 years old of Gay, WV – about him not helping around the house. An argument reportedly ensued, and Fields is said to have slapped the victim across the face, at which point the victim says she punched her attacker in self-defense.
Fields then reportedly began punching the victim on the face. The victim reports waking up on the floor after the fact and yelling at Fields, “you messed my face up.” Once she got up, Fields is said to have left the residence.
The victim reports then taking a shower and retrieving ice for her face before driving herself to the hospital for medical care. There it was confirmed by an ER nurse that the victim had suffered multiple facial fractures. Based on these events, Deputy Roush has requested that a warrant be issued for the arrest of Bradley Thomas Fields for one count of Domestic Battery 3rd offense.
Fields was previously arrested for Domestic Battery 1st offense on September 15, 2012, and was convicted on October 29, 2012. He was arrested and convicted for Domestic Battery 2nd Offense on 11/8/2017.
