BECKLEY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – During a press conference held Tuesday morning, Michael Baylous, U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of West Virginia, detailed the results of Operation Invictus. This operation was a warrant roundup conducted by the CUFF task force from September 7 to September 24, 2021.
During the operation, 44 individuals were arrested, one of whom was 49-year-old Arthur L. Greer Jr of Anawalt. Greer was arrested in Virginia in connection to a cold case homicide in McDowell County. Greer was indicted by the June 2021 McDowell County Grand Jury on First Degree Murder charges in connection with the 1995 murder of Frank Lane, 53.
Greer failed to appear for arraignment in July, resulting in a warrant issued for his arrest.
According to Baylous, Greer was found in possession of four guns at the time of his arrest- made by the Washington County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office.
Baylous had no further details to share about Greer as the case is being handled by law enforcement in McDowell County.
