MILTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man was arrested Saturday evening following a shooting on Barkers Ridge Road near Milton, according to the West Virginia State Police.
Authorities responded to the scene around 7:15 p.m. after receiving reports of an altercation that led to gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers determined that 45-year-old Thomas Proctor, of Ona, had been shot by his neighbor during the dispute.
Proctor was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, where he is expected to recover from his injuries.
Police executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence as part of the investigation.
The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Roy C. Black, also of Ona, was arrested on multiple charges, including malicious wounding, wanton endangerment, brandishing, and shooting within 500 feet of a dwelling.
The investigation remains ongoing.
