BELVA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities are investigating a Thursday morning shooting in Belva, Nicholas County, that left a man hospitalized and led to three arrests.
According to a press release from the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department, Darrell Adam Moore was shot near his residence on Old Turnpike Road.
Responding deputies, assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and West Virginia State Police, found Moore at Lively’s Diner near Beech Glen with a gunshot wound.
He was treated at the scene and later transported to Charleston General Hospital.
A firearm believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered with the help of a police K-9 unit.
During the investigation, deputies found unsafe living conditions for children at Moore’s residence.
Bobby J. Moore, 28, was arrested in connection with the shooting. Connie S. Moore, 58, and Caroline A. Stewart, 32, were arrested and charged with felony child neglect.
All three were taken into custody and transported to Central Regional Jail.
The case remains under investigation.
