BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man is behind bars after he smashed out windows at the old Wendy’s building in Beckley because he wanted to “break sh*t.”
On June 30, 2024, the Beckley Police were called to 3066 Robert C Byrd Drive, the former Wendy’s location. Emergency Communicators informed officers that a black male had been seen smashing out the windows of the business with a baseball bat before leaving and heading northbound.
The suspect was quickly located by officers just 200 yards away on Rt16, matching the description and still carrying the bat with glass residue on it.
When William Ross was questioned about his actions, he replied, “I’m breaking sh*t.” Due to the significant damage caused, the suspect was arrested and taken to the police department for processing.
The owner of the building was contacted and informed about the two large commercial-grade windows that had been broken, each costing approximately $1,500 to replace. This incident took place in Beckley, Raleigh County.
William Ross was charged with felony destruction of property.
