LOGAN COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Logan County man is charged after allegedly strangling and striking two victims.
West Virginia State Police say that on Saturday, April 15, 2023, they responded to the Lyburn area of Logan County regarding a domestic disturbance. One victim was bleeding from his nose and forehead and also had red marks in the neck area. Both victims advised that Alex Chippent, 22, got into a fight with them. One victim stated the suspect struck him with a closed fist and choked them. The other victim was struck in the face.
Chippent then fled the scene by jumping in the river and swimming across it.
Chippent was charged with strangulation and two counts of domestic battery. He is being held in Southwest Regional Jail under a 12,000 dollar bond.
