HAMLIN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities on scene were required to dismantle a vehicle beneath which a man had been trapped after being ejected from a vehicle on Tuesday morning.
West Hamlin Fire & Rescue reports that, at approximately 4:00am on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, WHFR were dispatched to assist Station 400 regarding a motor vehicle accident with entrapment in the Mud River area.
West Hamlin Fire & Rescue credited several entities with providing “top-notch assistance” and collaboration, noting that Stations 100, 200, 500, and 600 “worked diligently with Station 400, Medics 44 and 22.”
The situation involved the rescue of a man who required freeing following ejection from a vehicle and subsequent entrapment beneath.
This involved responders on scene dismantling parts of the truck involved and hand-digging around and beneath the patient to free him from the wreckage.
“Because of the high standard of work that everyone did on scene, the cooperation and hard work from all first responders, we were able to save the man,” said West Hamlin Fire & Rescue.
Gratitude was also offered to Lincoln 911, the West Virginia State Police, Robbie’s Wrecker, Hurricane Wrecker, the Department of Highways, Health Net, and AEP.
