LOGAN COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two people were arrested following a shots fired investigation Tuesday in the Wilkinson area of Logan County, according to the West Virginia State Police.
Troopers from the Logan Detachment responded on June 9 to assist the Logan County Sheriff’s Department in attempting to apprehend Rex Hale, 40, of Pecks Mill, following a reported shots fired incident in the community of Wilkinson.
Authorities said Hale was located at a residence on Milkhouse Hollow Road but fled into a nearby barn and refused to cooperate with law enforcement.
The West Virginia State Police Special Response Team was activated to assist with the situation. Troopers said the team was able to take Hale into custody without further incident.
During the arrest, investigators reported finding Hale in possession of body armor, blasting caps, an AR-15 rifle and a semi-automatic pistol.
Hale was charged with terroristic threats, four counts of child neglect creating risk of injury, wearing body armor during the commission of a felony, possession of an explosive device, five counts of wanton endangerment, prohibited person in possession of a firearm, and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Also arrested was Breonna N. Dillion, 29, of Logan. She was charged with three counts of obstructing, four counts of child neglect creating risk of injury, and conspiracy to commit a felony.
State police said the investigation remains ongoing.
