BECKLEY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – Earlier this week, Michael McClung, a Greenbrier County Commissioner, accepted a pretrial diversion agreement. This agreement could clear him of all the criminal charges he currently faces.
According to Raleigh County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Brian Parsons- a Special Prosecuting Attorney for Greenbrier Couty- McClung allegedly entered the Greenbrier Valley Airport where, in an illicit fashion, he took a hard drive from which he retrieved information before returning. This occurred in August of 2019.
Despite pleaded not guilty to the charges last November, McClung, who was set to go to trial on March 1, signed a diversion agreement that will place him on supervised probation for one year. Parsons says if McClung follows all of the rules of probation and attends mandatory training with the West Virginia Ethics Commission, his charges will be dismissed.
