MCDOWELL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A McDowell County man was found guilty Wednesday, October 29, on multiple charges related to sexual abuse and assault following a jury trial.
John Fields, of Premier, was convicted of four counts of Sexual Abuse by a Parent, Guardian, Custodian, or Person of Trust, one count of Sexual Assault in the Third Degree, four counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, and one count of Indecent Exposure.

According to the McDowell County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, the incidents leading to these charges date back as far as 2020.
The investigation was conducted by Trooper First Class J.B. Fox of the West Virginia State Police, and the case was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney R. Keith Flinchum.
Fields is scheduled to return to court on December 15 for a post-trial motions hearing.
