UPDATE (October 18, 2021, at 2 pm) MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Mercer County Commission held an emergency meeting over trick-or-treating.
According to County Commissioner Greg Puckett, “In response to overwhelming majority, in an emergency meeting, the County Commission has declared Saturday, October 30th as the official observance of Halloween from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. I’m pleased at this result and, while it may not concur with the actual date, this was made to coincide with our municipalities and the public will for change. I sincerely hope this helps with your holiday plans and please be safe and healthy this Halloween.”
Originally, Mercer County had voted to have trick-or-treating on Sunday, October 31st, while the City of Bluefield opted to move theirs to Saturday, October 30th. Â Both will take place on Saturday, October 30th, from 6 – 8 pm.

MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Mercer County Commission announces trick-or-treat plans for this year.
According to the commission, trick-or-treating will occur on Halloween night, Sunday, October 31, from 6 – 8 pm.
The commission wants to remind everyone to be safe, courteous, and aware of their surroundings.
The City of Bluefield will host trick-or-treating on Saturday, October 30, from 6 – 8 pm.
