BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Mercer County man faces several charges following an incident late last month in which shampoo, hairspray, and conditions were stolen from his mother’s residence.
According to Mercer County Magistrate Court documentation, at approximately 12:25pm on June 29, 2024, several items were reported stolen from a Titan Place residence in the Bluefield area.
Upon arriving at the residence, Deputy Sheriff Pinter with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office made contact with the victim involved in the situation. The victim stated that Eddie Carver Jr. had stolen items from her home including hairspray, shampoo, and conditioner. While she did not wish to pursue charges, she indicated that she did not want Carver at the residence again.
Carver was located by authorities travelling south on foot on County Route 71 – Lorton Lick Road – near Tabernacle Hill. Carver initially provided a false identity to law enforcement before attempting to flee to escape detainment.
Deputy Sheriff Pinter brought the suspect to the ground but ended up under the suspect, at which point the suspect was struck with a closed fist multiple times while orders to cease resisting were ignored. The officer was ultimately able to gain control of the situation with the assistance of bystanders at the scene.
A search of the individual, positively identified as Eddie Dean Carver Jr, led to the discovery of a small black bag in a right pocket. The bag contained a syringe, white power substance wrapped in paper, and a burned glass pipe.
Carver identified the substance as “the whores crack,” which is reportedly a euphemism for crack cocaine. The substance was submitted for testing and identification to the West Virginia State Police Forensic Laboratory.
Eddie Dean Carver Jr. has been charged with Obstructing an Officer, Malicious Assault, and Possession of a Controlled Substance based on the incident in question.
