MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS)—On February 18th, Kermit Moore was sworn-in to become the newest Assistant Prosecuting Attorney at the Mercer County Courthouse.
Moore was sworn in around noon by Judge Derek Swope. He’s been in Mercer County, living his professional life since 1983 as a trial lawyer.
“It’s quite an honor to be asked to do this,” said Moore.
He will be working alongside Prosecuting Attorney Brian Cochran on major felony cases in Mercer County. Moore mentioned that he’s known and worked with Cochran before for several years in the same law firm.
Although this is a part-time job for him, he will still be working at another law office.
“What I want to accomplish is to just have a fair and lawful judicial system for the prosecution of alleged criminals,” said Moore.
