GILES COUNTY, VA (LOOTPRESS) – A woman was killed and another person seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Giles County, according to Virginia State Police.
Police responded to the crash at 4:10 p.m. on Route 460, about half a mile east of State Line Road.
Investigators say a 2024 Kia Sorrento was traveling west on Route 460 when it veered off the right side of the road, hit an embankment, and overturned.
The driver, Sandra K. Preservati, 76, of Princeton, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said she was wearing a seatbelt.
A passenger in the vehicle suffered serious injuries but was also wearing a seatbelt, authorities said.
The crash remains under investigation.
