Iziah Gordon scored a game-high 27 points to lead Independence (3-0) past Shady Spring Wednesday in Coal City.
Konnor James added 10 for the Patriots and K.J. Viars scored seven. Jacob Fleming chipped in four points and Tristan Lykins had two.
Jace Bailey paced the Tigers with 17 points, while Braylan Davis scored seven points and Mason Adams added six. Jace Lilly scored five points and Jaylen Hall tossed in three points. Braylon Redman scored two points.

Kendal Wickline exploded for a game-high 31 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Shady Spring past Independence 55-23 Wednesday in Shady Spring.
Josie Farrish added 11 points and had five rebounds for the Tigers, while Liz Rose had five points and six rebounds.
Callie Olson scored two points and led Shady with nine rebounds. Victoria Glende chipped in four points and had three rebounds.
Chloe Cunningham had 10 points for the Patriots and Baylee Alderman scored nine. Jordyn Wood scored four points.
