WEST VIRIGNIA (LOOTPRESS) — What started as a bold theft from a military facility ended with a multi-county sweep of arrests after a stolen Humvee was taken from the WV Army National Guard motor pool and found abandoned across state lines.
On Thursday, March 6, 2025, at approximately 11:32 a.m., Sgt. P.S. Fisher of the West Virginia State Police responded to a break-in at the National Guard facility in Millwood. The thieves made off with a Humvee, sparking an immediate investigation. The WVSP Crime Scene Team processed the motor pool and surrounding area, scouring for leads.
The stolen military vehicle was soon located—abandoned in a sand and gravel pit operated by Shelly Materials in Racine, Ohio.
After weeks of investigation, on Friday, March 28, Sgt. Fisher and Senior Trooper B.Q. Turner arrested Tresten M. Williams, a 20-year-old from Ravenswood, WV, in connection to the theft.
But Williams wasn’t acting alone.
Further investigation identified five other suspects:
-
William McCommons, 20, of White Hall, WV
-
Joseph Juzkiw, 18, of Ravenswood, WV
-
Ryan McDaniels, 21, of Elkview, WV
-
Aubrie Pasadyn, 18, of Ravenswood, WV
-
Annarose Garrity, 18, of Ravenswood, WV
Between April 1st and 2nd, all five were arrested and arraigned in Jackson, Kanawha, and Preston Counties. The group now faces a list of charges, including:
-
Felony Conspiracy
-
Breaking & Entering
-
Grand Larceny
-
Vehicle Tampering (Misdemeanor)
-
Trespassing (Misdemeanor)
Authorities have not yet released a motive, but officials say the investigation is ongoing. What is clear, however, is that this group’s joyride in government property has landed them in serious legal trouble.
The WVSP commended the collaborative effort of law enforcement across multiple jurisdictions in bringing the suspects to justice.
One thing’s for sure: stealing a Humvee is not the way to go off-road.
