OHIO COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Triadelphia woman who was reported missing amid the severe flash flooding in Ohio County over the weekend has been confirmed dead, officials announced Monday.
The woman, identified as 59-year-old Lisa McMasters, was last seen shortly before floodwaters swept through the area.
A widely shared photo posted to social media appeared to show McMasters standing on her porch just prior to the flooding, prompting concern and search efforts.
Authorities have since confirmed that McMasters’ body was recovered, marking another life lost in what has become the largest mass casualty event in Ohio County.
As of Tuesday morning, the confirmed death toll from the weekend flooding has risen to seven.
