MONROE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Residents will have an opportunity to review and provide feedback on Monroe County’s proposed comprehensive plan during an upcoming public hearing.
The Monroe County Planning Commission has announced a public hearing on the county’s draft 2026 Comprehensive Plan. The hearing will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Lindside Family Life Center, located at 9000 Seneca Trail South in Lindside.
The purpose of the hearing is to gather public comments and input on the draft plan, which will help guide future growth, development, and land-use decisions within the county.
Copies of the draft comprehensive plan are available for public review during regular business hours at the following locations:
- Union Library – 299 South Main Street, Union
- Peterstown Library – 172 College Drive, Peterstown
- Monroe County Courthouse, County Clerk’s Office Lobby – 350 Main Street, Union
The draft plan can also be viewed online through the Monroe County website.
County officials encourage all interested residents to attend the hearing and share their thoughts. Written comments may also be submitted prior to the hearing through the county’s website.
