MONTGOMERY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Montgomery man is facing multiple charges after allegedly spraying his girlfriend in the face with a shower head and later brandishing a knife during a domestic disturbance Thursday evening.
On July 31, 2025, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Lt. Huffman with the Montgomery Police Department responded to a residence on 4th Avenue in Fayette County following a report of a domestic incident.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim and her mother, who identified Elijah Wright — the boyfriend and a resident of the home — as the suspect.
According to the victim, Wright entered the bathroom while she was showering, grabbed the shower head, and intentionally sprayed her in the face in what she described as a provoking and aggressive manner. She said she was able to push him away to stop the encounter.
Moments later, Wright reportedly went into the bedroom, retrieved a knife, and threatened to harm himself. Both the victim and her mother told police they feared for their safety due to Wright’s actions with the weapon, describing the situation as a disturbance that caused a breach of peace.
Authorities advised both women of their domestic violence rights and informed them how to obtain a protective order.
Wright has been charged with domestic battery and brandishing a deadly weapon.
