FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Pax woman is facing felony charges in Fayette County. Sheriff Mike Fridley provides the following information regarding this incident.
Just before 10:30 a.m. on January 19, 2024, deputies received notification from utility workers that they had found a toddler alone on the side of the road. The child had no shoes or jacket and was standing in the snow. The workers told deputies they attempted to find where the child had walked from, but his path had already been covered with snow. Deputies were eventually able to locate the child’s mother. Child Protective Services came to the location and took custody of the child.
Mackenzie B. Ewing, 31, of Pax, is charged with the felony offense of Gross Child Neglect, Creating a Risk of Substantial Injury or Death. Ewing will now await further court proceedings.
