BARBOUR COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Barbour County deputies responded Thursday to Baughman Towers in Philippi following a report of a domestic incident involving a woman and her adult son.
Deputy Williams of the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office made contact with Barbara Satterfield, who alleged that her son, Jessie Satterfield, physically assaulted her on October 29 at their home on Center Hill Road. According to Satterfield, the incident began as a verbal argument and escalated when her son struck her on the back with a water bottle and then on the head with a closed fist. She told deputies that when she expressed pain, he reportedly responded, “Good.”
The Satterfield family lives together, with Jessie serving as his mother’s caretaker due to her being wheelchair-bound. When questioned, Jessie Satterfield admitted to the physical altercation, stating he becomes angry and “doesn’t know what else to do.”
No additional details about charges or court proceedings were released.
