FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Fayette County Sheriff Jess McMullen has announced the successful completion of a multi-agency warrant operation on August 11, 2025.
The coordinated effort involved the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Marshals Service’s Southern West Virginia C.U.F.F.E.D. Task Force, which includes members from the U.S. Marshals Service, Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, Fayetteville Police Department, Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, Princeton Police Department, and the West Virginia Parole Services.

The operation focused on locating individuals with outstanding felony warrants and circuit court bench warrants. Arrests included:
- Robert Williams – Fayette County felony warrants: Child Abuse by Parent Causing Injury; Child Neglect by Parent Causing Injury.
- April Smith – Fayette County felony warrants: Child Abuse by Parent Causing Injury; Child Neglect by Parent Causing Injury.
- Dakota Crist – Fayette County felony warrants: Sexual Assault 2nd Degree; Sexual Abuse by Parent, Guardian, or Custodian.
- Darrell Cole – Fayette County felony warrants: Drug Delivery Causing Death.
- Amber Rainey – Raleigh County felony warrants: Gross Child Neglect Resulting in Risk of Serious Injury or Death; Possession of Controlled Substance.
- Lawson Shaffer – Fayette County felony warrants: Grand Larceny.
- Jennifer Paul (Fankell) – Fayette County Circuit Court Capias.
- William Joseph Williams – Raleigh County Circuit Court Capias.
Sheriff McMullen commended the agencies involved, stating, “This operation is a testament to the power of interagency cooperation.”
