BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Snow that began falling late Friday morning has caused multiple crashes and business closures in southern West Virginia.
According to West Virginia 511, several crashes have been reported on I-64 stretching from Hurricane to Lewisburg.
Locally, traffic is backed up in several areas in Beckley including Harper Road.
Conditions are expected to worsen through the evening as temperatures drop.
The conditions have caused multiple businesses and government offices to close early including the Raleigh County Courthouse and Nicholas County Courthouse.
All of southern West Virginia is under either a Winter Weather Advisory or Winter Storm Warning until Saturday morning.
