BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The third day of testimony in the Natalie Cochran murder trial focused on accounts from Jason Bowen, a general contractor who worked closely with the Cochrans on various projects. Bowen shared details about an unsettling experience at the Cochran home shortly before Michael Cochran’s death. FBI chemist Joseph Stephens testified about liquid vials taken from the Cochran home during the third day of the trial.
Bowen’s Testimony
Bowen recalled receiving a text message from Natalie Cochran while he was at Lowe’s, informing him that Michael was sick and lying on the floor. Concerned, Bowen went to the Cochran residence, where he found Michael curled up on the floor in a fetal position.
“I carried Mike to the couch,” Bowen testified. He tried to talk to Michael, calling his name multiple times, but received no response.
Bowen also recounted a previous conversation with Michael, in which Michael expressed concerns about feeling dizzy and speculated that he may have been poisoned.
Context of the Trial
Prosecutors allege that Natalie Cochran poisoned her husband to conceal her fraudulent Ponzi scheme, which defrauded friends and family of millions of dollars. The defense maintains that Michael’s death was due to pre-existing health conditions, arguing that Natalie is guilty of financial crimes but not murder.
The trial continues, with more witnesses expected to testify about the days leading up to Michael Cochran’s death. Proceedings are being broadcast live on Court TV, with key moments available for replay.
