NORTH CAROLINA (LOOTPRESS) – A North Carolina breakfast favorite is making its long-awaited return to grocery store shelves.
Neese’s Country Sausage is returning to stores after being acquired earlier this year by White Packing, another North Carolina family-owned company. The relaunch brings the iconic brand back to consumers nearly a year after production was halted.
Beginning this month, shoppers will once again find three classic Neese’s products at more than 500 Food Lion stores across North Carolina and Virginia:
- Neese’s Regular Country Sausage
- Neese’s Hot Country Sausage
- Neese’s Extra Sage Country Sausage
Production of Neese’s sausage stopped in September 2025 following health violations, leaving longtime customers wondering if the century-old brand would ever return.

According to the company, the newly produced sausage uses the same recipes that made Neese’s a household name while introducing updated packaging that honors the brand’s heritage.
The rollout is beginning at select Food Lion locations across North Carolina and Virginia before expanding to Food Lion stores chainwide later this fall.
Company officials also said additional Neese’s products are expected to return to Food Lion shelves in the future as the brand continues its revival under White Packing’s ownership.
