BEAVER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – New River Community and Technical College is pleased to announce the appointment of Tori Taylor as Associate Vice President of External Affairs, a newly established leadership position designed to strengthen the College’s strategic approach to building relationships, expanding opportunity, and advancing student success throughout its 10-county service region.
The position reflects New River CTC’s continued commitment to aligning strategic enrollment, communications, recruitment, community engagement, institutional advancement, and external partnerships under a unified leadership structure that supports the College’s mission and long-term strategic priorities.
Taylor has served New River CTC for six years, joining the College in August 2020 as a Communications Specialist before being promoted to Campus Director and Community Outreach. Throughout her tenure, she has earned a reputation as an innovative and collaborative leader, helping guide several of the College’s most significant initiatives while fostering meaningful relationships across the institution and throughout the communities New River serves.
In her new role, Taylor will provide leadership for strategic enrollment initiatives, communications and marketing, recruitment, community outreach, institutional partnerships, and other external affairs functions that support the College’s mission. She will continue to serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet, working collaboratively with College leadership to advance institutional priorities and strengthen New River CTC’s presence across southern West Virginia.

As we continue building on our momentum, I am confident Tori will play an instrumental role in strengthening our connections with students, schools, businesses, community organizations, and the citizens we proudly serve throughout our region.”
Dr. Bonny Ball Copenhaver, President of New River Community and Technical College, said the creation of the Associate Vice President of External Affairs position represents another important step in the College’s ongoing commitment to innovation and student success.

During her time at New River CTC, Taylor has played a key leadership role in expanding dual enrollment partnerships, strengthening institutional communications, enhancing community outreach, and advancing initiatives that improve the overall student experience.
“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve New River Community and Technical College in this new capacity,” Taylor said. “Over the past six years, I have had the privilege of working alongside an extraordinary team of faculty and staff who are deeply committed to changing lives through education. I look forward to continuing to strengthen our relationships with students, schools, businesses, community organizations, and our many partners as we work together to expand educational opportunities, strengthen our workforce, and serve the people of southern West Virginia.”
Taylor earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design with a minor in Management from Marietta College and is currently pursuing a Master of Organizational Leadership at Muskingum University. She is also a graduate of Leadership West Virginia, one of the state’s premier executive leadership development programs that brings together accomplished professionals from across West Virginia to strengthen leadership, foster collaboration, and address issues critical to the state’s future.
