MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – New River Gorge Regional Development Authority Deputy Director, and WV Hive Executive Director, Judy Moore has been recognized as a 2024 “Wonder Woman” honoree for significant contributions to industries, communities, and the state of West Virginia as a whole.
The honor, issued each year by West Virginia Living Magazine, recognizes the contributions of extraordinary women throughout the state. Moore will receive recognition, along with 2021 “Wonder Woman” Jina Belcher and 2020 “Wonder Woman” Tammy Jordan, at a South Charleston luncheon next month on October 30, 2024.
Belcher spoke highly of Moore, stating, “Judy embodies daily the role of a Wonder Woman. Her dedication, passion, and grit have helped West Virginia entrepreneurs accomplish the unbelievable. I’m incredibly fortunate to work alongside Judy and experience the knowledge she brings to the table.”
Moore served with New River Gorge Regional Development Authority as a business advisor for the WV Hive entrepreneurial arm before moving into the role of director within just six months. WV Hive has since become a thriving network of entrepreneurs supporting businesses across over a dozen counties throughout the region.
“I am 100% certain there is not another career path that would make me happier than the work I am currently doing,” Moore said of her role. “Being recognized as a Wonder Woman is a tremendous honor. I am fortunate to work with incredible individuals and organizations that share my commitment to strengthening our communities. This recognition reflects the hard work and collaboration of so many people who believe in the potential of southern West Virginia and its entrepreneurs.”
Outside of her work with WV Hive, Moore has given back to the community for decades through nonprofit and not-for-profit efforts, as well as through student and leader mentorship and volunteering for church functions. Moore serves on boards with the Tamarack Foundation for the Arts, West Virginia Community Development Hub, and West Virginia Women’s Business Center.
