FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An Oak Hill couple is facing felony charges in Fayette County following an investigation into suspected financial exploitation of an elderly man.
According to Fayette County Sheriff Jess McMullen, deputies with the Sheriff’s Department Detective Bureau launched an investigation on January 17, 2025, uncovering that numerous checks had been cashed by the victim’s son and his significant other between March 2024 and January 2025.
The total amount taken was $57,900.
Stephen Good, 49, and Allison Spencer, 37, both of Oak Hill, have been charged with Financial Exploitation of an Elderly Person, Fraudulent Schemes, Forgery, and Conspiracy.
They are now awaiting further court proceedings.
Authorities remind the public that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
