OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Oak Hill is inviting residents to take part in a memorial bench program that will allow benches to be placed throughout the city’s park system in honor of loved ones.
Citizens who purchase a memorial bench may suggest a preferred location within the parks; however, the final decision on placement will be made by the City.
This is to prevent overcrowding in areas that may already have existing benches.
To request a specific location, purchasers are encouraged to contact Parks and Recreation Director Josh Sapio at jsapio@oakhillwv.gov.
To reduce maintenance such as mowing and weed eating, the City asks that no additional items—such as flowers, shrubs, trees, or planters—be placed around the concrete pad where the bench is installed.
Any unauthorized plantings or decorations may be removed.
The memorial bench program is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to enhance park spaces while honoring members of the community.
