OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Oak Hill has announced that a new mobile pickleball net is now available for public use at Russell E. Matthew Park, giving residents another way to enjoy the community recreation space.
According to the city, the portable net is mounted on casters, allowing it to be easily rolled into place for pickleball games and moved off the court when play is finished. Officials ask users to return the net to its designated storage area after each game so it remains available for everyone.
The basketball court at Russell E. Matthew Park is a shared-use space for both basketball and pickleball and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The city asks park visitors to be respectful of other users and to remove the pickleball net from the playing surface after use rather than leaving it in the center of the court.
City officials also encourage residents to help care for the new community resource by preventing damage to the net and reporting any vandalism or suspicious activity. The park is under video surveillance, and reports can be made to the Oak Hill Police Department or Oak Hill City Hall at (304) 469-9541.
The city thanked residents for helping keep Oak Hill’s parks clean, safe and enjoyable and encouraged the community to take advantage of the new pickleball equipment.
