FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An Oak Hill woman was sentenced to prison on Tuesday for crimes in relation to possession of large quantities of elicit substances.
According to Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney, Anthony Ciliberti, Jr., on August 17, 2022, a Central Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force member knocked on the door of an Oak Hill residence regarding an unrelated investigation.
America J. St. Clair – 51 years old of Oak Hill, WV – reportedly answered the door holding a set of digital scales which appeared to be covered with methamphetamine and marijuana residue.
St. Clair, along with the other occupants of the residence, were patted down by the officer, resulting in the discovery of a larger quantity of methamphetamine on the person of Timothy Ritchie, St. Clair’s boyfriend. A subsequent search of the residence led to the discovery of additional controlled substances as well as digital scales and packaging materials.
Laboratory testing confirmed the couple to have been in possession of over 21 grams of methamphetamine, over eight grams of a methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin mixture, and over three grams of fentanyl.
On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, America J. St. Clair was sentenced by Circuit Judge Thomas H. Ewing to serve twelve years in prison for the felony offense of conspiracy. St. Clair is reported to have plead guilty to this offense on November 7, 2023, and must serve a minimum of three years in prison before potentially becoming eligible for parole.
