OCEANA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Recently elected members of Oceana Town Council, as well as the Town Mayor, were sworn in during a ceremony on Thursday.
Polls for the 2024 Municipal Election opened on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, and Oceana residents made their way out to cast their vote and participate in the democratic process.
The results of the election saw Tom Evans Jr. elected as Oceana Mayor, while Jim Cook was elected as Town Recorder.
Those selected by voting residents for Town Council membership included Jacob Jones, Dillard Tate, Tammy Gallion, Marie Green, and Joetta Walker.
Following the election, canvassing for the election results occurred at 7:00pm on Monday, June 17, 2024. According to officials, the results of the election remained unchanged following the canvass of the results.
City officials convened on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Oceana City Hall for a swearing-in ceremony which took place just prior to Thursday’s scheduled meeting of Oceana Town Council.
