BELLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A fatal collision on Witcher Creek Road in Belle on Friday evening has left one pedestrian dead and another injured.
According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the incident in the 2000 block of Witcher Creek Road just before 6:00 p.m.
A red SUV struck two pedestrians and fled the scene but was located approximately 30 minutes later on the same road.
The driver, identified as 33-year-old Keisha Miller of Belle, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
One victim, a 31-year-old male, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene.
The second victim, 42-year-old Becky Lynn Martin of Belle, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to CAMC General Hospital, where she later died.
Miller faces multiple charges, including felony DUI causing death, felony leaving the scene of a crash causing death, misdemeanor DUI causing bodily injury, and misdemeanor leaving the scene of a crash causing bodily injury.
She is currently at South Central Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone in the Witcher Creek Road area with surveillance footage of a dark red GMC Yukon between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to contact them with any information.
