RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 48-year-old woman from Camp Creek was killed Tuesday morning in a crash on Interstate 77 near the Crab Orchard/Mabscott exit.
Lewann M. Shrewsberry was driving southbound on I-77 when her vehicle struck a stationary West Virginia Parkways Authority Courtesy Patrol Vehicle near the 42-mile marker.
The Courtesy Patrol Vehicle was blocking traffic in the left lane with its emergency lights and arrow board activated while responding to a separate crash.
After the initial collision, Shrewsberry’s vehicle veered across the highway and was struck by a southbound commercial truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is being investigated by Corporal M.J. Glende and reconstructed by First Sergeant D.M. McMillan.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
