GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man was injured after a vehicle flipped multiple times and caught fire.
On Thursday, April 20, 2023, at approximately 7:00 pm, members of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene of a single-vehicle automobile accident on I-64 near the Sam Black exit.
The investigation revealed that the driver of a westbound vehicle, identified as LaQuan Candia, age 37 of Chesterfield, Virginia, lost control of his vehicle and traveled into the median.
The vehicle then flipped multiple rotations before coming to rest in the eastbound lanes.
A fire involving the vehicle ensued and it subsequently became fully engulfed. Both eastbound lanes of I-64 were closed for a short time.
Members of the Clintonville Fire Department arrived on the scene and extinguished the blaze.
Mr. Candia was treated on scene by Alderson EMS and was transported to a local hospital due to injuries sustained.
