RENICK, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Greenbrier County man was arrested early Sunday after deputies with the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at his Pleasant Lane residence and reportedly seized illegal drugs, a firearm, and drug distribution materials.
According to the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, the Street Crimes Unit carried out the warrant at approximately 6 a.m. on October 26 at 312 Pleasant Lane.
Investigators say the warrant was obtained following witness reports alleging that the homeowner, Obie Bennett, was dealing illegal narcotics and stolen goods in the county.
During the search, deputies located and seized approximately 17 grams of methamphetamine, 5 grams of fentanyl, 20 grams of marijuana, and about 40 additional grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl.

Multiple digital scales and drug paraphernalia were also recovered.

Bennett was charged with three counts of possession with intent to deliver narcotics, two counts of delivery of methamphetamine, and one count of prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
He was transported to the Greenbrier County Courthouse for processing and arraignment before being taken to Southern Regional Jail.
Lt. S. Hudnall is leading the investigation.
Sheriff Bart Baker commended deputies for their continued efforts to reduce the flow of illegal drugs into the community.
